How To Know If Your Apple AirPods Are Charging: Explained

0

Apple AirPods offer wearers a convenient way to listen to their music on the go, and completely wirelessly. Users can listen seamlessly with Bluetooth, and can even charge Airpods away from an outlet. There are several things users can do to know when their earbuds are being charged and how to achieve longer battery life.

Apple AirPods come with a charging case that can hold both headphones simultaneously. This case can also hold many charges for the AirPods, so it’s easy to charge them while away from an electrical outlet. To keep them charged, just store them in the case while the AirPods are not in use. With the multiple charges available in the case, the user has access to over twenty-four hours of listening time or more than eighteen hours of talk time. With a single headphone charge, they can also have access to five hours of listening time or three hours of talk time.

The AirPods case can be charged by wireless charging using a Qi-certified charging mat. To do this, place the AirPods on the charger with the status light facing up and the lid closed. The status light will show the current charge level of the case for eight seconds after charging has begun. If you have AirPods Pro, you can check the charging status at any time by tapping the case while it’s on the charging mat. To charge the AirPods with a wired connection, plug the lightning cable into the AirPods and plug the other end into an outlet or USB port. According to Apple, the Amber light means that the case is still charging, while the green light signifies that it is fully charged. The AirPods case can be charged with or without the AirPods inside.

To check exactly how charged the case and AirPods are, use an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Mac. When using the phone, open the lid of the AirPods case while it is in close proximity, as the connection will allow the user to see the percentage of charge for both the case and the AirPods on the phone. Owners can also check the status of the charge by using the battery widget on a connected device. Be aware that with this method, the charge on the case only appears when at least one AirPod is inside its case. To check the charge from a Mac, open the lid of the AirPods case, and then click the Bluetooth button on the Mac's menu bar. Then hover the mouse pointer above the AirPods and it will show their charge level.

Keeping AirPods charged in their case makes it easy for them to be used frequently and without having to constantly worry about charging. Every fifteen minutes the AirPods are charged for, gives the wearer access to three hours of listening time or two hours of talking time, which should be more than enough for most scenarios.
