Leeds United Chat • Mateusz Klich leaves his mark on Elland Road

0
Street art has become a common feature around Elland Road stadium over recent years. There is of course the Lowfields Road tunnel mural by Jameson Rogan commissioned by the Leeds United Supporters Trust, Shane Green’s LUFC Shield mural on the end of Tilbury Mount by the M62 footbridge and over the past couple of years the emergence of the Leeds United themed telecoms cabinets pained by the Burley Banksy, Andy McVeigh. But now there is another piece of street art in Beeston, ‘Champions 2020’ graffiti to be found on Lowfields Road by the entrance to the North East corner, painted by our very own Mateusz Klich.

Klich is not your stereotypical modern footballer, he treads his own path, has his own style. Whilst most of the team celebrated the Championship win in Magaluf or Ibiza, Klich went home to Poland and played football tennis with his dad in the back garden. Where most footballers love their fast cars, Klich is interested in graffiti and street art. He had previously worked with Leeds based graffiti artist Meds, to produce a striking purple, turquoise and grey piece with Meds praising Klich as 'a natural'. Now the two have linked up again to produce this new piece on Lowfields Road which celebrates Leeds United’s title.
