5 Musical Movies Cancers Will Love (& 5 They Will Hate)
The Cancer sign is one of the most fun signs in the zodiac because people born under this sign have wonderful and wild imaginations. Most Cancers also make great friends and partners in relationships because they are extremely loyal. On the other hand, Cancers also don't shy away from their emotions and that can sometimes be a bit overwhelming for other signs on the receiving end of it.
Like any sign, it's all about balance, and a lot of times a Cancer's emotional side actually works in their favor and allows these people to be more empathetic, which also allows them to really enjoy art and what comes from other people's imaginations. Here are some imaginative musical feature films that Cancers will love, and also a few that they should probably avoid on their next movie night.
10 Love: Mamma Mia
The Cancer sign likes to have fun. People born under this sign can cheer just about anyone up and is always looking to have a good time.
One of the most fun musical movies to come out in the last decade is the jukebox musical feature film, Mamma Mia. This movie was filmed in Greece and it looks like the cast of the film had a great time. The Cancer sign will walk away from this film feeling like they just took a summer vacation.
9 Hate: The Last Five Years
Cancers may struggle with this musical turned feature film because it's a pretty depressing story. The story is of Cathy and Jamie, two young people who meet, fall in love, get married, and then get divorced.
In the film, Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan play the two lead characters and sing live, which is incredibly difficult for them and fun for the audience to watch, but the lack of a happy ending will be a turn off for most people born under the Cancer sign.
8 Love: Mary Poppins
This is a classic musical movie that Cancers probably grew up watching and still love to this day. This film centers around the title character, Mary Poppins, who is the world's best and most magical nanny.
When Mary Poppins arrives to look after the Banks children, her timing couldn't be more perfect. Mary takes Jane and Michael on a great adventure and manages to cheer the children up, and her audience as well.
7 Hate: Les Miserables
Because the Cancer sign is such an emotional and empathetic sign, they tend to absorb the feelings of whatever is around them.
This sign is very sensitive to others' emotions and for that reason, they should probably steer clear of the musical turned feature film, Les Miserables, because it's a rather depressing story and most of the characters don't have the happiest of endings.
6 Love: The Greatest Showman
The ensemble cast in this musical feature film about P.T. Barnum and the creation of Barnum's American Museum puts on an incredible show.
The original music, stunning costumes, and set design, the cinematography, and the amazing performances make for a feature film that will put anybody, especially a Cancer in a good mood. This imaginative feature film is something that every Cancer should put at the top of their watch list.
5 Hate: Into The Woods
Most Cancers will struggle with this musical feature film because it takes the classic fairytale stories we all know and love and gives them a much darker, more cynical twist.
Of course, as with every fairytale, there is a happy ending, but the journey to get to that ending is difficult and there's a lot of suffering that all of the main characters experience and some really heavy themes, which Cancers won't find very entertaining.
4 Love: Annie
The Cancer sign loves a good rags-to-riches story and the musical, Annie is a classic example. This musical has been made into a movie numerous times, most recently, it starred Quvenzhané Wallis as the title character and Jamie Fox as the man who takes orphan Annie in and gives her a better life.
The Cancer sign will also love the music in this film, both the classic songs they already know and the original twist this updated film puts on the music.
3 Hate: Beauty and the Beast
The Cancer sign struggles if they're feeling confined or if any of their free will has been taken away, which is why they won't like watching the Disney classic and live-action remake, Beauty and the Beast.
This film is actually a pretty solid example of Stockholm syndrome, which is when a person being held captive finds an alliance with the person or people holding them there, which is exactly what happens to Belle in this musical feature film.
2 Love: Walk The Line
Another great musical love story that Cancers can appreciate is the critically acclaimed biographical film, Walk the Line, about the true love story between Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.
Not only will the Cancer sign fall for the romance in this film, but the music is really great and both of the film's stars, Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon execute the musical numbers perfectly.
1 Hate: Cinderella
This is one rags to riches story that Cancers won't like to watch because for so much of Cinderella's life, she's held captive by her evil stepmother and treated terribly by her stepsisters and it's only with the help of a magical fairy godmother that she's able to escape and have a better life.
The fact that Cinderella is trapped for so much of the story won't sit well with most Cancers who don't like feeling confined to given a spot or situation.
