Battletoads: How to Defeat The Topians (Final Boss) | Screen Rant
Battletoads is the follow-up to the infamously difficult classic. This game adds a new set of challenges to a game that is often voted as one of the hardest games ever made. As such, boss battles of this kind are expected to be extremely troublesome. While the new game seems to be slightly easier than the original, boss battles are no walk in the park.
The final battle to save the universe comes in the form of the ruthless Topians. Uto and Pia are some of the most dangerous enemies that players will face in the game. The battle will take pattern memorization and lots of skill. This fight is incredibly fun despite its complexity. Here's how to beat Uto and Pia in Battletoads.
During most of the fight, Uto and Pia's strategy will be to attack one after the other in quick succession. This is meant to overwhelm the player to the point of failure. A good rule of thumb is to learn to anticipate the next attack before it happens. They tend to do the same attacks in the same order at the beginning of each attempt. Take this time to familiarize yourself with their patterns.
When the fight begins Uto will be the first to attack. They will come at the player hurling balls of powerful energy in the player's direction. Dodge each one and then run in for a few hits. Unless the player is fully confident they can get the timing right, don't attempt to his Uto in between throws. The rest of the energy balls will do a ton of damage on the player while they attempt to get hits in, and dodging the one being thrown is almost impossible at such close range.
Following this first attack, Pia will appear behind the player and perform a swift slash that the player will need to jump to avoid. Do so, and expect another few slashes from either side of the arena. Keep in mind that Uto and Pia share a health bar, so doing damage to Pia during this section is vital. These attacks are much easier to avoid than the first ones, so go nuts.
Afterward, Uto will return, this time shooting bolts of lightning from the sky. Stay as close to the boss as possible, and jump attack to get damage in. Once again, this won't be the easiest thing to do, because the balls of energy will still be present. Pia will follow up with another predictable attack. This time, they will try to smash the player. Just jump to avoid it and get a ton of hits in. Continue this way until about 2/3rds of the boss's health has been depleted.
At this point, they will stop playing around. Uto and Pia will both come out at the same time and start flinging attacks at the player left and right. This is by far the most hectic section of the fight, but during this time, players will have more opportunities than ever to get hits in. Take advantage of the chaos and just keep attacking.
Battletoads is available on Xbox One and PC.
