Facebook nears $300 per share for first time

Facebook Inc. shares were up 5% to $295.95 in late-morning trading Wednesday as the social-networking giant neared $300 a share for the first time. Facebook's stock is up 44% this year. The broader S&P 500 index is up 7% this year.
