Mortal Shell: How to Change Shells (The Easy Way) | Screen Rant
Throughout the course of Mortal Shell, players will be forced to go up against all kinds of difficult enemies and bosses. In order to fight against these deadly enemies players will need to ensure that they are well prepared beforehand by having all of the necessary equipment and items. Sometimes though, no matter how hard a player tries, the current shell that they have equipped isn't quite cutting it.
The upside here is that players can actually switch between the four shells whenever they wish in the game. Each shell functions as a different class that provides players with new abilities and move sets. On top of this they also all have their own stamina and durability stats, so its good to know which class would best suit the player's play style. This guide shows players how to switch between the shells.
In order to switch between shells, players will first need to unlock all of them. This can be done by tracking down each of the shells in their respective areas. Luckily this can be completed almost immediately after the game begins, so players should probably do this before anything else. After a shell has been unlocked players will then need to travel to Fallgrim Tower. Players will need to pay a small fee Sester Genessa, but after that, the shells will be unlocked permanently.
Switching between shells at Fallgrim Tower is actually really simple. Players just need to go to the crypts here to find where the shells reside. There is a spot in the crypt for each of the shells. Players than just have to approach the shell that they wish to play as and interact with it. This will switch them to that specific shell, which can be done as many times as the player wishes with no repercussions or cost.
There is another method of switching between shells that do not require players to travel to Fallgrim Tower, but it does have a cost. All players have to do is use an effigy that corresponds to one of the shells in order to turn into that shell. Doing this though will consume the effigy and players will need to find another one if they wish to change again. Effigies are typically found in chests or as item drops from dead enemies.
Mortal Shell can be played on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
