Deputies investigating fatal shooting in Canal Winchester

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Ohio (WCMH) – Deputies are investigating a shooting in Canal Winchester, that left a man dead.

According to Fairfield County Sheriff Dave Phalen, at about 5:39 a.m., Thursday, deputies were called to the 100 block of E. Oak Street on the report of a domestic violence situation. 

When deputies arrived on scene, they found Stephen Lance Ritter II, 50, dead from an apparent gunshot wound. 

Deputies took Stephen Lance Ritter III, 22, into custody and charged him with aggravated murder. 

The shooting remains under investigation.
