The victim, who’s in his 20s, and another man had arranged to sell the car through an intermediary and drove to Hackney on Tuesday evening, where they met a group of men around 7.10pm.
But when two of the men from the group they met got into the back seat, a fight broke out and the car was stolen.
The incident happened outside the Clapton New Testament Church of God, on the corner of Downs Park and Cricketfield Road on Tuesday, August 25.
The Met Police say they are hunting the carjackers and so far no arrests have been made.
“Two men had driven from to Athlone Close, E5 where they had arranged to buy car through an intermediary,” said a spokesman.
“At the scene they met a group of men and two of these men got in the back seat of their car. An altercation then took place and their car was stolen.
“One of the original occupants was uninjured, but the other was stabbed in the leg. Their car, a white Range Rover, was driven off from the scene by the suspects.
“The injured victim, a man in his mid-20s, was treated in hospital and has since been discharged.
