BRITAIN’S hardest cop has been honoured for his courage after he was slashed in the head by a maniac armed with a machete.
PC Stuart Outten managed to fell his attacker with a Taser – despite being struck six times with a two-foot blade in August last year.

The hero officer, who suffered life-changing injuries but is back at work, has now been recognised with a Commissioner’s High Commendation from the Met Police.
Top bosses hailed his “extraordinary bravery”, adding: “Despite receiving life-changing injuries in the attack, PC Outten has returned to work and is progressing towards returning to full duties.”
The officer was attacked after he pulled over handyman Muhammad Rodwan for having no insurance in Leyton, East London.
The 56-year-old was later convicted at the Old Bailey of causing grievous bodily harm – but NOT guilty of possessing an offensive weapon or attempted murder.
He was sentenced to 16 years in prison, with another three on licence.
The horror attack was filmed on PC Outten’s police issue body-worn video camera.
The graphic footage shows showed Rodwan punching the officer before grabbing a sharpened machete as PC Outten tried to arrest him.

Despite suffering serious head wounds, PC Outten was still able to hit back by zapping the attacker twice with his 50,000-volt Taser.
Exclusive footage obtained by The Sun Online shows the blood-soaked policeman shouting for horrified witnesses to hand him his radio as he collapses to the ground.
The cop then radios for help with Rodwan lying next to him.
PC Outten told a colleague: “I need an ambulance now.
“I’ve been stabbed with a machete.”
The officer suffered six deep wounds to the head as well as multiple fractures to his skull.
He also sustained two wounds to his right arm, while a number of his fingers were shattered.
Today, he said: “I will never forget what happened that night – but I’d never let it stop me doing the job I love.
“Luckily my training kicked in and thankfully the Taser was effective the second time.
“I have had a huge amount of support both internally and from members of the public and I am honoured to have now received this commendation – it means a huge amount.”
