Every Week 1 Challenge in Fortnite Season 4 | Screen Rant
The new Fortnite update has arrived, marking the official beginning of Chapter 2, Season 4 and hailing the arrival of many Marvel superheroes in what has been referred to as the Nexus War. As in previous seasons, the map has changed somewhat, and there are new locations to explore and new challenges to complete. In addition to the typical Weekly Challenges that can earn players XP for their Battle Passes, players can also complete Awakening challenges for specific Marvel characters and unlock skins, weapons, and other cosmetic goodies in doing so.
This week, the Weekly Challenges are primarily orientation challenges, helping show players around the new map and introduce them to some of the new named locations and in-game mechanics. Some of these, like collecting floating rings and looting chests, will be familiar to players. Others have notes of former challenges while asking players to do something a little bit different. Completing challenges will earn players 25,000 XP each, except the Team Challenge, which rewards all team members with 50,000 XP upon completion. Here is every Week 1 Challenge in Fortnite Season 4.
The Week One Challenges can help players learn a little more about the new island layout and the Nexus War. Players will also be introduced to some of the new weapons available, including the new Stark Industries Energy Rifle. Here is every Week One Challenge:
- Search 7 chests at Dirty Docks
- Make 3 eliminations at Holly Hedges
- Collect 4 Floating Rings at Misty Meadows
- Eliminate 5 Stark Robots at Quinjet Patrol landing sites
- Gas up one vehicle at Lazy Lake
- Deal 1,000 damage to opponents with a Stark Industries Energy Rifle
- Team Challenge: Eliminate Doctor Doom 3 times at Doom’s Domain
Doom's Domain is a new named location that replaced a longstanding named location on the map, Pleasant Park. This complex houses Dr. Victor von Doom, who serves as both an unlockable season skin and a new NPC boss. While most Team Challenges can be team optional, this one might be worthwhile for players to do in a Squad. Doom is a difficult boss with high HP and a weapon that can set the whole ground in front of the player on fire, making it hard for a player to escape him without dying. Players who defeat him will obtain his weapon.
With all the new hero skins players can unlock, there are a few extra challenges during Week 1 of the season to get started. Some of these, like the Wolverine challenge, function in much the same way as the Aquaman challenge from Season 3 or Deadpool challenge from Season 2, where players need to complete a few weekly challenges before they are able to unlock and use the skin. Others appear after unlocking certain new skins.
First, there are the Awakening Challenges. After unlocking each new skin, starting with the starter Thor skin, players can complete challenges related to those character skins. For this week, players will need to find Mjolnir, investigate some Bifrost Runes, and a seek a special emote while equipped with the Thor skin. Players will unlock other skins at different Battle Pass Tiers, at which time new Awakening challenges will become available.
The Wolverine skin operates the same way as the Aquaman skin. For the first five weeks of Season 4, players will need to complete challenges to earn various cosmetics. During Week 6, they will finally be able to unlock the skin. This week, the Wolverine Challenge asks players to investigate some mysterious claw marks. There are several scattered across the map, but the player only needs to investigate three. As a reward for completing this challenge, they will earn a Wolverine spray cosmetic.
Fortnite is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
