How to Romance Allies in Fallout 76 | Screen Rant
Normally, romance options are an important part of any RPG and have been an important aspect of the Fallout franchise. In previous games, players have even been able to marry NPCs. However, Fallout 76, the most recent addition and prequel to the rest of the series, did not originally give players the option to romance their allies. This is due, in part, to the fact that there initially were no NPC allies in the game. With the Wastelanders update, Bethesda reintroduced NPCs and the ability to romance these characters, though there are currently only two romanceable options.
Romancing a character has practical benefits along with story significance. Players will receive a 15% experience boost and a Lover's Embrace buff to their character for a time as a result of engaging in a romantic relationship. The two romanceable characters in Fallout 76 as of the Wastelanders update are Beckett, the lovable rogue type and a recovering addict, and Commander Sofia Daguerre, a former astronaut who reentered Earth's atmosphere just in time to witness the apocalypse. Players can find these characters by exploring different areas on the expansive map and complete a few side missions to get them to follow the player character back to camp. These NPCs won't travel with the player character, but they will stay at camp and help the player defend it. For players looking to add a little romance to their game, here is how to romance Beckett and Commander Daguerre in Fallout 76.
The romance system in Fallout 76 is simple enough. Players need to first find Beckett and Commander Daguerre. There are several other allies to be found scattered around the map, but only these two can be romanced right now.
Beckett is located at the Rollins Labor Camp in the southwest region of the map. He can be found inside the prison after the player dispatches the Blood Eagles there. The player will need to help him escape the prison and find his belongings at Sludge Works to convince him to become an ally. After retrieving his belongings, players will need to build him a bar back at camp. He will give the player another ally quest once at camp, this time asking them to help him take down the Blood Eagles. He also offers smaller side missions, having the player right some of his past wrongs to gain more help in taking down the gang.
Commander Daguerre is located in The Mire on the northeast side of the map. She sends out a distress signal the player can pick up when they are in the vicinity as long as the player has reached level 20. Her bunker is located at the bottom of the cliff at East Ridge Lookout. To get her as an ally, players will need to find her crashed ship and download data for her, and they will need to find a robot lost in The Mire. Upon completing both quests, players can invite Commander Daguerre to come to camp. To get her there, the player will need to build her USSA Console. Once there, she will provide other ally quests and side quests like Beckett.
Both allies will always remain at camp and cannot join the player on their personal loyalty quests. Both allies can be recruited, but right now, only one can be active at the player's camp at a time. Players can switch between them by scrapping the bar or the USSA Console and building the other one.
To romance either of these characters, after recruiting them to camp, players need to complete some of their personal quests and talk to them, asking questions to get to know them better. After completing some of their missions, players will see new dialogue options with [Flirt] beside them.
Selecting these options can trigger a romance with the character. Generally, as in other Fallout games, the more a player gets to know the NPC and help them with their personal quests, the more and deeper dialogue options they will unlock.
Players may be slightly disappointed to find, however, that both Beckett and Daguerre will always reciprocate the player's feelings, and the romances are as straightforward as always choosing the dialogue option with the [Flirt] designation. Players across social media are clamoring for the ability to romance more of the added NPCs to be included in future updates.
Upon completing the related ally quests, players will receive a three-star weapon from both Beckett and Daguerre.
Fallout 76 is available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
