PIERS Morgan locked horns with his oldest son Spencer as they argued about coronavirus in an awkward Twitter spat.
The 55-year-old presenter has been one of the most outspoken stars about the importance of taking COVID-19 health and safety guidelines seriously, whereas 27-year-old Spencer often dismisses the pandemic on his own social media account.

Earlier today, Spencer retweeted a news article about footballers Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood breaking the squad’s strict quarantine rules by “inviting girls back to their hotel room” while on England duty.
The tweet read: “BREAKING: Phil Foden and Mason Greenwood accused of bringing back girls to hotel room in Iceland in breach of quarantine rules.”
Spencer quoted it and added: “Literally who cares” – sparking the wrath of his famous dad.
Unafraid to call his son out in front of his 7 million followers, Piers retweeted Spencer as he seethed: “I’d imagine all the people they have now massively inconvenienced with their selfless, reckless behaviour including their England & club colleagues who have abided by the rules to ensure football matches can be played.”

Fans praised Piers for not shying away from confronting his son, with one writing: “I’m glad you enlightened your son!”
Another added: “Confiscate your son’s phone!”
A third joked: “Daddy smacks son’s a**e good and proper!!!!!!!!”
This is not the first time the duo have publicly clashed on Twitter over their differing views.

Last month, Piers furiously tweeted: “I think it might be easier if all those who’ve deluded themselves into thinking the pandemic is ‘over’ to unfollow me.
“There are plenty of T-list celebs & ex-sportsmen who agree with you – so follow them & read what you want to hear, then you won’t get so angry all the time.”
To which Spencer replied: “Goodbye dad”.
Before that, Piers called out Spencer for saying coronavirus poses no threat to Premier League footballers, tweeting: “Young healthy people need to stop acting like the virus is irrelevant because it doesn’t kill them.”
Spencer hit back at the time: “And older / vulnerable people need to accept that life isn’t fair and that in this instance it is their responsibility to be smart and shield themselves as much as possible.”

However, they insisted the bickering was just healthy debate between a father and son, with Piers telling one critic: “I’ve always encouraged my children to be their own people & speak their own minds…”
Spencer added: “Only idiots can’t have a civilised debate”.
Spencer is Piers’ oldest son with ex Marion Shalloe, who he also shares 23-year-old Stanley and 19-year-old Bertie with.
The star is also dad to eight-year-old Elise with wife Celia Walden.
