KUWTK: What to Know About Rob Kardashian & Tristan Thompson's Bromance
Rob Kardashian from Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been getting his confidence back thanks to Khloe Kardashian's baby daddy, Tristan Thompson. The pair first met when the NBA Cleveland Cavalier started dating Rob's sister, Khloe Kardashian, in 2016.
Kardashian appeared in the first seven series of KUWTK as a full cast member. He then started appearing less and less, and left the show completely after season 13 amid mental health and weight-management issues.
Thompson famously cheated on Khloe Kardashian a few days prior to her giving birth to their daughter, True Thompson. Khloe forgave him, but it wasn't long before he was in hot water again when he kissed family friend and Kylie's ex-BFF, Jordyn Woods, at a house party. Khloe called it quits with the Cleveland Cavaliers player in February 2019, but the on-again, off-again couple have recently rekindled their relationship while self-isolating together during the pandemic. They have been using the time to co-parent their daughter True and focus on their relationship.
During Rob Kardashian's time on the show, he was open about his struggle with depression and his self-consciousness appearing on camera after gaining a significant amount of weight. The reality star's body image issues affected his self-confidence so much that he refused to go to sister Kim Kardashian's extravagant wedding to Kanye West. The sole male Kardashian shares one daughter, Dream Renée Kardashian, with Blac Chyna, who he separated from in mid-November 2016. Their rocky breakup and the abrupt end of their short-lived spin-off series, Rob and Chyna, sent him into a deeper depression and even further from the limelight.
The tables seem to be turning for Rob Kardashian as he tentatively started posting pictures of himself on social media this summer. Previously, his depression had caused him to shy away from family vacations, but he managed to join the Kardashian-Jenner clan on a family vacation to celebrate Kylie's 23rd birthday in August.
Tristan Thompson has been instrumental in helping Kardashian with his weight loss. A source exclusively told In Touch that “Rob adores Tristan and looks up to him,” the insider shares. “Tristan’s helping Rob stay in shape and they’ve been working out together.” And just like any good bromance, support and motivation go hand in hand with a healthy dose of teasing.
Kardashian fans are still dubious about Thompson after the numerous cheating scandals, so while he remains a questionable choice of partner for Khloe, he has proven to be a great motivator for Rob. The most elusive of the Kardashian clan even appeared in a teaser trailer for the upcoming season 18 of KUWTK. Just in time, considering the recent confirmation that Keeping Up With the Kardashians will air its final season in 2021!
