KUWTK: Kim's 6 Toes & Other Kardashian-Jenner Photoshop Fails
A picture is worth a thousand words, and a Photoshopped one is worth a thousand more. It’s not easy being in the spotlight, but when you’re part of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family, it’s much tougher. The Kardashian-Jenner clan has been accused many-a-times of slimming down their waists or smoothing their skin. However, in a world where filters reign supreme, the reality TV royalty has been victim to many Photoshop fails. Here’s a look at the times when the KUWTK stars have fallen down the rabbit hole of Facetune and filters, and failed hard.
The Kardashian-Jenner sisters are some of the most-photographed celebrities around the world. To be fair, fabulous photos do involve a bit of airbrushing every once in a while. A Kim Kardashian photo has the power to break the Internet within seconds, and a Kylie Jenner Instagram post will be replicated at least 10000 times. However, does being this picture-perfect come at a cost? A little bit of tweaking here and there can surely be overlooked. But at times, the KUWTK celebs have posed in pictures with glaring editing mistakes. From iconic photos to equally iconic fails, the Kardashian and Jenner sisters have treated their fans to it all. Although, there are a few choice pictures from the Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars which made fans go “Oh snap!”
One toe too many! The bizarre rumors of Kim K having six toes have been in circulation forever. Curious and catty Kardashian followers first seemed to notice an extra digit on Kim’s left foot back in August 2019. Kim, 39, appeared in a perfume ad with sister Kylie, 23, for the lip-shaped KKW perfume when the first sighting happened. “How do you mess up so badly editing on a 6th toe,” asked a fan. But a rep claimed that it was the “sideways angle of the star’s foot.” Theories about the KUWTK star always hiding her feet in pictures floated around, but Kim recently addressed the rumors personally. Mrs. West demonstrated in an Instagram post that the "extra toe" is just a fleshly part of her foot that protrudes whenever she wears shoes. “I hope that answered my sixth toe question because I only have 5 toes on each floor,” she confirmed.
The Kardashian-Jenner family always keeps up with their tradition of Christmas cards. But the 2019 photo from the Kardashian-West family seemed to have something amiss. The holiday card featured Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West with their children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. But followers couldn’t help but notice how little North looked a lot like she was superimposed. Kim finally revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she had to Photoshop her eldest daughter in, as North had a bit of a temper tantrum the day of the family photoshoot, and had to be shot separately. In April 2019, Kim’s sister Khloe was roasted for having Photoshopped more fingers than humanly possible onto her hands. In a throwback photo from Diana Ross’s 75th birthday celebration, Khloe 36, faced appropriation backlash along with comments trying to decipher how many fingers she had on each hand. The total number of Khloé’s fingers in the picture ranged from 12 to 14, according to fans.
Momager Kris Jenner has also not been spared by the Photoshop bug. Although the product she was promoting was for a slimming tea, mama Kris had noticeably done some shaping-up on her biceps. Is that warped wood around her right arm in the photo below saying something?
Not only does Khloé grow extra fingers, but she also is known for making her body parts disappear. The season 16 promo for Keeping Up With the Kardashians showed Khloé surrounded by mom Kris and sisters Kim, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie. Eagle-eyed fans noticed, or actually failed to notice, the lower half of Khloé’s body. “Just a little question, where is the rest of Khloe’s body? So from the waist down…?” Bonus, some reality TV viewers also thought that Kendall was Photoshopped into the group picture. Double bonus? It didn’t take long for Kourtney, 41, to be embroiled in a Photoshop fail controversy of her own. Kourtney’s March 2019 bubble bath photo may have been captioned “Love yourself as deeply as you love them,” but why did she edit her body to look differently? KUWTK fans accused Kourtney of a Photoshop job so bad that her kids could have done it. First of all, Kourtney's legs are placed in an impossible position. Second of all, her face looks like a bad copy and paste error. Thirdly, the oldest Kardashian sister’s right wrist has an odd nipple-like protrusion peeking out from the soap suds. Yikes!
Fans playing detective can get too harsh at times, which was proven when Khloé had to once turn off her comments in October 2019. The Good American designer’s photo showed her smiling at the camera, and she captioned it with “old photo.” However, her unnaturally smooth forehead and smudge-free skin had some KUWTK viewers calling her face “CGI.” Khloé who usually has comebacks ready, sadly couldn’t deal with the trolls this time around.
Kendall Jenner,24, is known for her unreal looks, but this Instagram picture was too far away from reality. With a towel wrapped her head, Calvin Klein knickers, and a glass of red wine in her hand, the supermodel can be seen strutting her stuff atop a bathroom counter. But on closer inspection, as most KUWTK fans do with their idols’ pictures, Kendall’s walls near her flat tummy seemed to curve. Warped wall syndrome isn’t new for the famous Facetuning folks, and Kendall seemed to have fallen prey to the trend too.
A recent bikini photo fail included youngest sister Kylie. The KUWTK star wowed fans by showing off her quarantine body as she posed in a clear blue pool, but there were some obvious Photoshop fails that got noticed instead. The edge of the pool was glaringly warped, which showed that Kylie could have wanted shapely legs for the ‘gram. Kylie was called out and deleted the pictures, only to reupload them after cropping the curved part out. But even Kylie knows that the Internet, along with Keeping Up With the Kardashians, always keep receipts.
Photographed by Greg Swales, this May post by Mrs. Kardashian West show her clad in a two-piece snakeskin set, snakeskin nails, and even snake-skin hair with a caption “Venomousss.” Kim’s photo, however, also has two extra fingers peeking out from her hair on the right. “You left an extra hand in your hair,” wrote a trolling Keeping Up With the Kardashians fan to Kim. This one takes the cake in being the most hiss-torical Photoshop fail of all time, doesn’t it?
