Man charged with murder of wife found dead in London home
A man has been charged with the murder of his wife in south-east London.
Retired bank worker Suzanne Winnister, 66, was found collapsed in her £1.6 million home in Bexley at 9.15pm on Tuesday.
London Ambulance Service staff attended but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her husband Leslie Winnister, 68, who works as a senior BT executive, was charged with murder on Friday evening.
A special post-mortem examination determined Mrs Winnister died of severe head and neck injuries on Wednesday.
Tony Kench, the previous owner of the house who sold the property to the couple six years ago, has described her as a ‘lovely lady’.
Winnister was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
