Ex-Man Utd midfielder linked with Spurs hints at move abroad
Former Manchester United midfielder Dion McGhee, who was reportedly on Tottenham’s radar has hinted on social media that he is heading abroad.
The attacking midfielder, who had been with the United academy since the age of 9, was released at the end of last season, and it was reported last month that Tottenham had offered him a trial (Vavel).
It was suggested that the 19-year-old had left the United academy since he wanted more first-team opportunities, was said to have been put through the paces at Hotspur Way by the youth coaches at Spurs.
However, based on the teenager’s latest social media update it appears as if Tottenham decided against offering him a new contract.
McGhee posted an image on social media on Wednesday, suggesting he was flying overseas.
Replies from some of McGhee’s former Manchester United team-mates as well as some Besiktas fans to the midfielder’s post on Instagram suggests that he could be headed to Turkey.
