Chloe Sims blames becoming paranoid in lockdown for contributing to her fallout with Pete Wicks.
CHLOE Sims has blamed becoming paranoid in lockdown for contributing to her fallout with Pete Wicks.
TOWIE’s queen bee revealed how her mind created a ‘nasty version’ of her former BFF due to paranoia in isolation.
Chloe said: “We had a big fall out, went into a pandemic and did start to think, do I know this person at all?
“To be honest there probably was a little bit of paranoia.
“Now we have spoken I do see things completely different to how I did.
“It’s made me realise how powerful the mind is and how I had built up a completely different picture or version of him in my head.
“I completely believed that version and if you had spoken to me a few weeks ago I would be saying completely different things to you.”
The former best friends fell out back in January after a blazing fight.
A furious Chloe told Pete she never wanted to see him again. They had both refused to talk to each other until Sunday’s episode.
But Chloe has now admitted the fallout wouldn’t have been so bad without the Covid pandemic.
She said: “Not speaking throughout the pandemic made things so much worse.
“I had painted a very negative picture of who he was as a person but I now realise I was hurt and maybe I did that to protect himself.
“I’m not sure why my mind did it but I have said some things I no longer believe.
“I have realised he is still Pete and I do know him deep down.
“I know he still really cares for me. I didn’t believe that for a little while but now I’ve realised that is still the case.”
Both the TOWIE regulars have so far refused to reveal what the fight was over. But Chloe admitted she felt let down by her bestie.
“I didn’t think he was there for me when he should have been. I do think Pete is an amazing person and he has been an amazing friend to me in the past despite me saying he wasn’t there for me.
“But having said that, we do have issues that f**k things up. I did start to question who he was as a person or if I did ever really know him at all.

“”At the end of the day you never really know anyone inside out completely. We both want to move forward with the friendship but we still have a long way to go.”
In the season opener Chloe told pals she may have smothered Pete.
Clarifying what she meant she added: “That might sound mental to other people but all I mean by that is maybe my expectations of him were too high.”
TOWIE is on Wednesdays and Sundays at 9pm on ITVBe.
