Below Deck Med: Malia Fires Back At Captain Sandy For Calling Her 'Secretly Gay'
Malia White from Below Deck Med has fired back at Captain Sandy for calling her "secretly gay", and Malia responded via Cameo while filming a video for a fan.
Malia White has been in the tabloids recently for fueling rumors that she and her boyfriend Tom Checketts called it quits because he was cheating on the Below Deck star. Only last night, the bosun confirmed that she was in fact single, after posting numerous Instagram stories and memes. She has taken down all pictures of her and Tom and seems to be living the single life. Malia took to Instagram to confirm she was a single lady once more, saying, “Hey, guys, it’s Malia. My personal life seems to be quite the topic at the moment. So first off, yes, Tom and I have split. The details surrounding all of it I am trying to keep a little private, just out of respect to him and I. But yes, I am single.”
Not only has Malia had to deal with her relationship souring, but she has also had to deal with Captain Sandy making allegations about her. Reality TV Bliss reported that the Captain had made some surprising remarks while recording a Cameo video. Captain Sandy called her favorite crew member Malia White “secretly gay.” Check out the video below:
Fans were shocked that Captain Sandy, who is a lesbian herself, would even consider mentioning a crew member's sexual orientation. Malia wasted no time at clapping back at the Below Deck captain, saying Captain Sandy's comment had come out of left field. In the video, Captain Sandy went on to say, "Malia…I think she’s secretly gay, to be honest. That’s my opinion. Everybody in production thinks that." Then, Sandy Yawn immediately realized her mistake. She covered her mouth and said, "Oh! That’s gonna be public isn’t it! Okay so maybe…who knows!"
Malia admitted that she was hurt by the video and said she was shocked by it as anyone. Bosun Malia White revealed that she was "not sure why my sexual orientation is being discussed in Cameos." Malia confirmed that she was not gay, but said that if she was. it should be her decision to come out.
Captain Sandy and Malia have always been close, and many felt that the captain favored her too much. It looks like that friendship is currently navigating some murky Below Deck Med waters. Hopefully, Captain Sandy will apologize, and the friendship can continue to grow. While Sandy didn't do the right thing this time, she has been a good role model for Malia in the past.
