Before Dancing With The Stars season 29 premiered on Monday, September 14, it was announced that two new dancers, Britt Stewart and Daniella Karagach, would be joining the lineup of pro dancers on the show. Previously, both of these dancers were members of the troupe, but now they are dancing with celebrity partners. During the season premiere, it was announced that rapper and singer Nelly would be paired with Daniella. Here is everything that you need about the new pro dancer.
Daniella Karagach, 28, is a Dancing With the Stars sensation who was born in Brooklyn, New York, to immigrant parents from Moldova. A year after her birth, her parents divorced and she was raised by a single mother for most of her childhood. Beginning at the age of three, she began taking ballet classes. By the time she was six, she was learning steps at Latin dance classes.
According to KYR News, before she began ballroom dance lessons, Daniella had a hard time focusing in school, so her mother took her to the doctor, who diagnosed her with ADHD. The doctor then prescribed medication, but her mother said, "at six years old, my daughter will not take medication." That is when her mother decided to put her in ballroom dance lessons, and she has been in love with this type of dancing ever since. In fact, she began a dance partnership with fellow DWTS pro dancer, Pasha Pashkov. The two started dating shortly after, eventually getting married in 2014. While dancing together, the couple went on to become seven-time U.S. 10-Dance Champions and Latin Champions. See Daniella in action in the video below:
Despite Daniella and Pasha being new pros over the last two seasons, this is not the first time dance fans have seen them compete on TV. The pair competed on NBC's World Of Dance season 2, where they advanced to the qualifiers before ultimately being eliminated in the duels. The couple got their start on DWTS shortly after appearing on World Of Dance. Although she is married to fellow Pro Dancer Pasha, Daniella also has a connection with one of the fellow judges on the show. Shortly after her time on the NBC series, where Derek Hough was a judge, Daniella starred with him in the music video for "Natural" by Imagine Dragons. Derek was so impressed with her work, he invited her to join him on his Derek Hough Live! tour.
It's safe to say that despite being a new pro on DWTS, Daniella has achieved a lot in her career as a dancer. This is her first year as a pro, but she sure knows what she is doing. Viewers are excited to see her dance with a celebrity for the first time, away from the troupe and under the spotlight. After receiving mediocre scores during the first two weeks of the competition, viewers are going to have to continue to tune in each week to see how far Nelly and Daniella make it in the competition.
