Club president admits that Spurs were keen on striker who decided on move elsewhere

Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur were very keen on signing Alexander Sørloth.

After joining Trabzonspor on loan from Crystal Palace last summer, Sørloth went on to score 33 goals in 49 games for the Turkish side in all competitions (transfermarkt).

Sørloth completed his move to RB Leipzig earlier this week after signing a five-year contract with the Bundesliga giants 

The 24-year-old was said to have made clear he wanted to join Leipzig, having been identified as the man to replace Timo Werner following the Germany international’s switch to Chelsea and decided against returning to Turkey after this month’s international break (Guardian).
