Flash floods swamp homes in Kanchanaburi, Thailand

Flash floods batter homes after heavy rain in Kanchanaburi, western Thailand, on Thursday (September 24th).

The region was inundated with torrents of water after mountain streams overflowed sending a muddy brown deluge onto nearby homes.

Rescue workers helped to evacuate stricken residents, who were taken to nearby shelters to wait until the floodwaters had subsided.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia are going through their annual rainy season.
