Kazakh Education Minister tests domestic vaccine against coronavirus

NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – The Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov was vaccinated with the Kazakh vaccine against coronavirus more than a month ago, the director of the Research Institute of Biological Safety Problems of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Kunsulu Zakarya, announced in local media.

Later, the minister personally confirmed that he had received the coronavirus vaccine. “Every day I received the results of preclinical studies, saw the test results and the effectiveness of the vaccine, so I decided to get vaccinated with our vaccine. A lot of time has passed since then. I feel great, there were no catarrhal phenomena, the temperature did not rise,” Aimagambetov said.

The minister stressed that he was involved in every stage of the development of a vaccine against coronavirus. He also recalled that Kazakh scientists two months ago became the first volunteers in the country who decided to test the COVID-19 vaccine on themselves.

On August 1, it became known that the second Kazakh vaccine of the Research Institute for Biological Safety Problems was registered on the website of the World Health Organization as a candidate vaccine.

To date, the test results show that the Kazakhstani vaccine meets all the parameters regulated by the WHO.

Kazakhstani scientists are planning to start clinical trials of Kazakhstani vaccine.
