Gigi Hadid's Dad Mohamed Claims Family Is 'Not the Kardashians' & Doesn't Want Reality Show

0

Gigi Hadid's dad Mohamed Hadid recently opened up about being a father to his two popular model daughters, while taking a dig at the Keeping Up With The Kardashians family. He said (possibly addressing Kris Jenner), "But I don't use my kids to enhance my career. I protect them."

Mohamed got married to his second wife, Dutch model Yolanda Hadid, in 1994. Throughout their relationship, they had three children, Gigi, 25, Bella, 23, and Anwar, 21. In 2000, the couple got divorced. Since then, they have been co-parenting their three kids. Their oldest daughter Gigi recently had her first child, a daughter with her boyfriend of five years, Zayn Malik.

While talking to The Times Magazine, real estate developer Mohamed Hadid discussed being the father of two ultra-famous supermodels, Gigi and Bella. He said, "It's dangerous for me to be their father. I have to be very careful. Everything I do is a reflection on them. [People] use my kids as an instrument to harass me." He added, "Just being their father is a tremendous burden on me. They were my kids. Now I'm their father. It is what it is." The 71-year-old businessman revealed that he gets approached by TV networks who want his family to have its own reality TV show. However, he declines the offers. He says, "We are not the Kardashians. We are actually much more private than people tend to think. We know the Kardashians as friends."

He acknowledged that his daughters and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Kendall Jenner are good friends, "Kendall [Jenner] is a great friend of my daughters and we have a lot of respect for what they do, and how they did it." The real estate tycoon added, "They are good people and they created something so unusual that you have to commend them." At the same time, he took a jab at the Kardashian-Jenner clan by saying, "But I don't use my kids to enhance my career. I protect them. I watch over them. I don't want to take them out on the street and take pictures with them. Would we ever do a show? No, I don't think that will happen."

Well, never say never! Perhaps his daughters might be interested in being a part of a reality show a few years down the line. He has been featured on the reality show, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, alongside his ex, Yolanda. Fans are wondering what momager Kris Jenner will say about Mohamed's catty comments. Many conspiracy theories are floating around the Internet that she does manage her kids' lives, as well as their careers.

Some fans think that matriarch Jenner also arranged Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Khloe Kardashian's triple pregnancy to rake in TV ratings and publicity. If it's true, she did a good job, because that did help her to promote her reality show. While Kris may be getting shade from Mohamed and others, many Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans are glad that the KUWTK series happened... and became the most popular reality TV series ever in the United States.
