Another Milestone Recorded By Heinricher Racing

Jackie Heinricher became the first female team-owner in IMSA history to score a podium finish this weekend when the #57 Heinricher Racing w/ Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 finished the IMSA Weathertech Series race from Laguna Seca in third. It’s yet another accolade for Heinricher who has been a driving force behind the effort to get more women involved in motorsports.

Heinricher Racing fielded the first all-female full-season driver lineup last season. This year, the team has Alvaro Parente and Misha Goikhberg.

“Last season we made history by fielding the first female driver lineup for a full season of IMSA competition. Today, I’m honored to be the first female team owner to earn a podium in IMSA history. We want young women drivers and engineers to see what they can be in this sport.

“As I’ve said before, we expect to compete for podiums every race and today we did just that,” Heinricher said.

This year’s programme is in partnership with the highly experienced Meyer Shank Racing stable. The #86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 currently leads the championship, but the #57 Acura has struggled to find similar success this season.

“I want to personally thank Mike Shank. Without his support, guidance and mentorship, the last two years would not have been possible,” Heinricher said.

“This was a result that we deserve,” Goikhberg said. “We’ve been saying for so long now how we need to get a finish that we know we are capable of and that happened here at Laguna [Seca] today.”
