Eternals Promo Image Reveals New Look At Marvel’s Full Superhero Team

0

A new promo image for Marvel's Eternals shows a fresh look at the entire cosmic team. In another universe, Eternals would be two days away from its debut. The Chloé Zhao-directed film was originally scheduled for release on November 6, 2020 when it was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019. However, the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted the MCU's Phase 4 plans in a massive way, causing some pretty lengthy delays. Eternals ended up getting bumped from November to February, and then was moved once more to November 2021. As it stands right now, it'll arrive one year from tomorrow.

As a result, fans have been left very little ideas of what Eternals will look like. With its centuries-spanning story and star-studded cast, Eternals is shaping up to be a Marvel film unlike any other. There's a lot of potential within its cosmic landscape, and many are curious to see how Zhao will bring the team to life. However, aside from various promo shots and set photos, Marvel has yet to reveal anything from the film. Luckily, however, a new promo image has made its way onto the internet, giving fans a little something to help tide them over.

Courtesy of Marvel fan yeezkie, the latest Eternals image has been revealed. Arriving as part of a Marvel sticker pack, the picture shows the entire Eternals team lined up, and though the animated imagery means fans still don't know what the cast looks like exactly, it's easy to determine who is who. From left to right, the line-up is as follows: Sprite (Lia McHugh), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Gilgamesh (Don Lee), Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), Ajak (Salma Hayek), Thena (Angelina Jolie), Druig (Barry Keoghan) and Makkari (Lauren Ridloff). Check it out down below.

With Eternals now pushed to a whole year from now, it's going to be a little while longer before fans actually get to see something like a trailer or official movie shot. While this is promo image can't quite compare to those, it's nice to get an idea of the team's appearances in this interesting image. Their arrangement in particular could be telling, with Ikaris, Sersi, and Ajak at the forefront of the team. Additionally, it still remains to be seen how Kit Harington's Black Knight will appear, which is another point of major interest.

It seems likely that the first trailer for Eternals could arrive in early 2021, perhaps timed with the May release of Black Widow. That will give fans a better idea of the film's aesthetic, which will hopefully reach its full potential. The Eternals are powerful beings who are nearly immortal and have existed for thousands of years, so their style and world should be unlike anything the MCU has ever seen. So far, Eternals certainly looks like it'll be unique. Only time will tell how the rest of it shapes up.
