Russia’s Tatneft to invest a construction of a tire plan in Kazakhstan
NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – The project of a tire plant in Saran city of Karaganda region in the centre of Kazakhstan was discussed by Kazakhstan Prime Minister Askar Mamin with Russian oil company Tatneft General Director Nail Maganov, the press — service of the government of Kazakhstan said on November 4.
The sides discussed the progress of the preparatory work for the project for the production of automobile tires – providing infrastructure, agreeing on a schedule for the project.
“The construction of a tire plant in Kazakhstan is important to meet the needs of the domestic market and develop export potential,” Mamin said.
An investment memorandum on the implementation of the project was signed by Mayor’s Office of the Karaganda region and Tatneft on September 27 in Kostanay in the presence of Mamin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The production capacity of the plant will be 3 million tires for passenger vehicles and 500,000 tires for commercial vehicles and buses. The total volume of investments will be about 111 billion tenge ($256 million). The plant will be launched in 2022.
