Mega Buzz: Empire Season 2 Pits Cookie Against Jamal

In the Empire finale, fans saw a darker side of Jamal (Jussie Smollett) when he dangled Beretti off a balcony. But that was only the beginning.

This season, Empire will explore more of Jamal's dark side and "see what that means and how he grapples with it," according to showrunner Ilene Chaiken. "It changes everything," she tells TVGuide.com. "It changes his relationships with his friends and family and it will be reflected in his music. He'll make some big choices."
