Firefighters in India battle to contain toxic foam overflowing from polluted river

Firefighters in Tamil Nadu's Madurai battle to contain toxic foam that is overflowing from the polluted Vaigai river affected by heavy rain.

Footage from November 28 shows the firefighters spraying the foam with water in an attempt to prevent it from spilling over onto the road.

The foam is a result of the rising water level of the river mixing with wastewater in nearby ponds.
