Game of Thrones Prequel First Look Concept Art Reveals Two New Dragons
The first pieces of concept art for the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon reveal peeks at the new dragons. The fantasy world from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series first came to the small screen with HBO's Game of Thrones in 2011. Over the years, Game of Thrones cemented itself as one of the biggest shows in the world, and when it ended last year, HBO pursued various spin-off ideas. Though several were considered, only one is currently moving forward: House of the Dragon.
Set hundreds of years before Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is based specifically on Martin's novel Fire & Blood, which told the history of House Targaryen. Casting took place over the summer with an eye on a 2022 premiere, and in October, Paddy Considine was cast in the lead role of Viserys Targaryen. Beyond that, little else is known about House of the Dragon, but on Thursday, an exciting announcement emerged on social media.
The first official pieces of concept art for House of the Dragon were shared to the Game of Thrones social media account. Both excitingly and unsurprisingly, the two images are of dragons. The first offers a peek at the full length of a dragon, while the second gets closer to its fearsome face. Check out both down below.
