Assam: First phase of BTC polls peaceful, turnout 77%

After the high-voltage campaigning by BJP led by Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal and cabinet minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the first phase of polls in 21 out of 40 seats of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) was peaceful on Monday with a turnout of 77%.
