Aldi shoppers furious after discovering Kevin the Carrot pyjamas are wrong sizes after buying them
ALDI shoppers have been left furious after discovering their Kevin the Carrot pyjamas they bought in store are the wrong size.
The gaff has left bargain hunters warning parents to double check the sizes of sets they’ve already bought, particularly if they’re being saved for Christmas eve boxes.
Kevin the Carrot pyjamas for kids and adults range between £4.99 and £9.99 and quickly sold out in stores and online shortly after going on sale.
Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group, customers have described how the pyjama sets they’ve purchased contain mismatched sizes.
For example, one customer said they bought a small pair of women’s Kevin the Carrot pyjamas, only to find a small top and XXL bottoms.
Another set they bought contained a pair of bottoms size age two to three instead of the nine to 10 displayed on the packaging.
After realising the pyjamas were the wrong size, the shopper wrote: “The kids were a little upset as they couldn’t wear them.
“I have been to my local one [Aldi] this morning and they had age three to four left but when we checked labels they were actually age five to six years.”
Other shoppers soon flocked to the post, saying they’d experienced the same issue.
They said: “Happened to us yesterday. Seven to eight bottoms but 12 to 18 months top! Doubt whether they will have any left now.”
Another said: “I have a nine to ten top and two to three bottoms too but none in stock around my area.”
A fourth commented: “I have changed three pairs because of this they are all odd sizes.”
However, one shopper was quick to defend Aldi and said the error could be down to other shoppers swapping the sizes about, not a warehouse error.
They said: “This happens all the time in Aldi, people swap the sizes about because they maybe want larger bottoms than top or vice versa.”
The customers didn’t say which stores they purchased the Kevin pyjamas from.
Kevin the Carrot merchandise is always extremely popular with Aldi shoppers, with the cute vegetable cartoon starring in the last five years’ worth of adverts.
Aldi installed a new queueing system earlier this year, similar to Glastonbury’s ticket website, to help the website cope with the amount of people wanting Kevin the Carrot merchandise.
But some customers were left disappointed after sold-out Kevin toys appeared on eBay later for £2,500.
An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are sorry that, for a small number of customers, this product has not met our usual high standards.
“We are happy to provide a full refund to any customer who buys an Aldi product that they are not completely satisfied with.”

The ad, released on November 6, came after a teaser showed the carrot ejected from a fighter jet by his new wingman, Lieutenant Turkey.
