This is pretty exciting
Last season, as we all know, despite getting serious consideration for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year, former Duke star Zion Williamson had a rocky rookie year. This was largely due to injuries and then a family crisis while he was in the bubble.
He showed his vast potential on offense but between minutes restrictions, rehab and recuperation and everything else, he never fully hit his stride.
Certainly he wasn’t the player we saw at Duke but according to this video, which has some practice footage, he’s ready to go. He looks pretty lean, or as lean as he can realistically be, and that should help him overall. It might even add a bit to his vertical.
We’re really excited to see what the New Orleans Pelicans do with his highly unusual talent and skill set.
We also hear here that Williamson “loves” new coach Stan Van Gundy and sees him as an old school coach who will get the best out of him.
Look out basketball, you’re about to see something spectacular.
