What Happened To The Real Housewives Of Toronto After The Show Ended?
It’s been three years since the Real Housewives of Toronto ended. What have the reality stars been up to since their debut in 2017?
The Real Housewives of Toronto premiered on Slice in 2017. The reality series only lasted one season but wasn’t officially canceled. Instead, it was announced to be going on a “hiatus.” RHOT wasn’t the first Canadian version of the Real Housewives collection; Real Housewives of Vancouver aired in 2012 and 2013. Check out what the Toronto housewives have been up to for the last three years.
Roxy Earle
Roxy was proclaimed to be the first “plus-size” housewife of the entire franchise. As a result, she’s become an icon for body positivity and acceptance. “As soon as I was going to do reality TV, I said to myself, ‘If you’re going to do this, you have to be 100% yourself and show the good, the bad and the ugly. Everyone’s gotta see it,’” Roxy said. “One day I said, ‘stop calling me plus size - I am my size and my size rocks!’ and a movement was born,” Earle said after countless interviews where her appearance was brought up. Following this statement, Roxy started a movement on social media called #MySizeRox. “It’s very inspiring when you kind of realize that you’ve been able to touch one girl’s life, then all of a sudden you become very motivated,” the body positivity activist reflected.
Earlier in 2020, Roxy confirmed that she split from her husband, Raghu Kilambi. In a video she posted on Instagram, Earle stated that her marriage ended because she wanted a child, but Raghu wasn’t ready for the commitment as a result of being in a different place in life. “Now I’m embarking in freezing my eggs and maybe I’ll have a baby on my own one day as an independent woman,” Roxy said during the Instagram video. She also stated that she’s dating and doesn’t regret her divorce even though it was a challenging thing to go through.
Currently, the Real Housewife is writing a children’s book about body positivity aimed at young girls. Roxy says that her two nieces motivated her to write the book. When asked if she would return to reality TV, Earle responded, “Absolutely! Not going to say anything else on that fact but I would absolutely love a #MySizeRox show.” Could it be that a new reality series is in the works?
Kara Alloway
As viewers may recall, Kara was the mean girl of the show. In an interview, Alloway reflected on her role in the reality series. She said she realized she was type-casted as the villain when the women bet against her in a restaurant. “My theory is, when you think of Mean Girls, who’s the first person that pops into your head? Regina George. Do you remember Cady? Yeah, she was in it. But you remember Regina George,” Kara said.
In August of 2017, Alloway starred in a music video with a Canadian rap artist named Jordan Grant. The title of the song was Real A$$ Housewife and it was inspired by Kara’s glamorous life. She even sold shirts in honor of the music video and donated funds to U For Change. Unfortunately, the music video didn’t receive great reviews. She’s reportedly still married to her husband, Graham Alloway.
Gregoriane Minot Payeur
Gregoriane used to be a professional dancer until she was 18. She toured with L’Ecole Supérieure de Danse du Québec in her teen years. During RHOT, she mentioned that she may return to dancing. While she didn’t return during the show, Gregoriane said she often dances with her children at home and has taken some private salsa classes. Today, it’s been reported that she takes tango lessons at Toronto’s DanceLife X Centre.
She’s still married to her husband, Pierre Jutras. Her husband owns and operates the elusive Spoke Club and Spoke on the Water on Toronto Island. “I think my fairy tale is to have this opportunity to live the life I have today. I have a great family, great support, amazing friends and an amazing husband,” Minot said. “So my fair tale is my life.” Gregoriane frequently visits her hometown, Montreal.
Ann Kaplan Muholland
Out of all the RHOT cast members, Ann was arguably the most business-minded. She’s an entrepreneur, author, actress, Ph.D. candidate and so much more. With her fans, Ann shares the following piece of advice, “Whatever you do and whoever you are, own it!” In 2018, the successful business owner was a regional finalist at Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year awards. Ann was enthralled by her success because she believes it shows her eight children that anything is possible if you make the commitment.
Ann and her husband, Dr. Stephen Mulholland, have eight kids, but they aren’t all theirs. Two are Stephen’s children, two are Ann’s children, two they had together and the final two are Ann’s niece and nephew. In 2014, Ann’s sister tragically passed away from cancer which is why they are the primary caregivers for her niece and nephew. Ann and her family moved to the prestigious Bridle Path neighborhood in Toronto where rap artist Drake also lives.
Joan Kelley Walker
Originally from a community in Saskatchewan called Wilcox, Joan states, “I grew up in a small town but had big dreams!” In 2018, Kelley launched a fashion brand called Joan Kelley Walker Collection. She explained that she’s always dreamed of designing her own fashion line. “I have early memories of flipping through fashion magazines and trying on all of the clothes in my sister’s closet! I have always loved fashion and style,” the real housewife said. For her 2019 line, Joan said she would make a donation to Breakfast Club of Canada for every item purchased. “This is an inspiring way to give back,” Walker said.
Joan is a philanthropist in every sense of the word. Breakfast Club of Canada nourishes children’s potential by serving breakfast to those in need across the country. In addition to her work with this organization, she’s worked with other charities that specialize in helping women and children including World Vision, Canadian Nation Institute for the Blind, Free Them, and Starting Strong. She’s won various awards for her charitable work including the Mother Teresa Award, Queens Diamond Award, and Heroes for Children Power of Generosity Award.
In other news, Kara and her stylist, Sergio El-Azzi, had a falling out. Sergio appeared in several episodes of the Real Housewives of Toronto. Since their fallout, Joan and Sergio have become close friends.
Jana Webb
Following season one of RHOT, Jana revealed that she was living with serious pain that resulted from a tragic car accident. “I was literally on my way home that we hit a cement truck head-on at full speed,” the Joga inventor said. The accident left Webb with a serious concussion and broken back. “You just think you’re gonna die and then I woke up like, ‘Okay, I’m alive’ but I couldn’t breathe and I couldn’t understand what was going on,” Jana reflected.
Other than making sure she recovered properly, Webb has been working on expanding her Joga brand. She recently opened a new boutique gym in Yorkville, Toronto called Joga House.
