Striker Matty Hughes joined Lancaster City on a month-long dual-registration today. This is a strange one because I personally wasn’t his biggest fan towards the end of last season and would’ve parted ways under normal circumstances. However, I’ve felt very sorry for Matty this season though because given most of our other attackers have been disappointing, I don’t understand why he’s rarely been given chances to impress. As shown in the run-up towards his very unfortunate injury two years ago and even against Curzon Ashton this season, he can be a brilliant player on his day so I’m gutted he’s been left out a lot. Lancaster City play just one league below us in what is a very competitive division, so I’m rooting for him to prove himself in order for him to hopefully come back here banging that first team door down.
