Governor Kelly introduces new Lt. Governor David Toland

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - Governor Laura Kelly introduced David Toland Monday at a press conference as the state's new lieutenant governor.

Toland formerly served on Gov. Kelly's cabinet as the Secretary of the Kansas Department of Commerce. He is best known for serving as Gov. Kelly's campaign treasurer in 2018.

The lieutenant governor seat became vacant when former Lt. Governor Lynn Rogers was appointed to state treasurer, following Congressman-elect Jake LaTurners' victory for Kansas' 2nd District congressional seat in November.
