Rainbow Six Siege & Among Us Players Allegedly Have The Highest IQ
According to a recent study conducted by Royal Panda casino, Rainbow Six Siege and Among Us players have some of the highest IQs among gamers.
Bragging rights are a major thing in the gaming community. Between being the best at a game or who's favorite console is better, gamers always find a way to argue over who or what is best at something. Chief among these arguments is intelligence and which gamers are smartest. It isn't all that hard to find memes on the internet of gamers calling other stupid based on the games they play. Gamers are constantly challenging each other's intelligence, so the casino website, Royal Panda, ran a study to see which groups of gamers were actually most intelligent. Their findings showed that Rainbow Six: Siege and Among Us players had the highest IQ's among gamers tested.
Royal Panda's methodology was simple. With the help of a professional psychologist, 1,001 gamers and technology users were administered a four-part IQ test. The tests were created to rate four key signs of intelligence: verbal intelligence, mathematic ability, logic reasoning, visual reasoning. Before taking the tests, participants were asked a series of demographic identifiers to help group their findings. The groups included: IQ level by console, IQ level by game choice, IQ level by mobile and desktop device, and the IQ of male gamers vs female gamers. The results of the tests ranged from predictable to somewhat unexpected.
Based on console preferences, PC gamers proved to have the highest IQ with a 112.3 average. Next came PlayStation 4 with an average IQ of 110.7, then Xbox One users with a 103.8 IQ, Switch users with a 101.3 IQ, and rounding out the list is mobile phone gamers with a 99.4 IQ. Among the four key signs of intelligence, PC gamers held the best verbal intelligence and mathematical ability, while PS4 users tested higher for logical and visual reasoning. Xbox users came in third for all four categories, while mobile device users came in last in every category excluding verbal intelligence.
In the battle of the sexes, women were found to be the more intelligent gamers with an average IQ of 108.4 compared to the 102.3 average IQ of their male counterparts. In addition, women proved to be superior in all four of the key signs of intelligence. They completely dominated the test. Meanwhile, Android users were found to have a higher IQ than IOS users among mobile gamers. Surprisingly, Apple Mac Computer users had the higher IQ than Windows users among PC gamers. This result may not make sense considering Window's superior gaming capabilities, but it's mostly due to the wording on the test. Rather than asking abut preferred gaming platform, the test asked which type of computer subjects use for work and leisure. This may have inadvertently skewed the results.
Among IQ scores based on game choice, Rainbow Six: Siege players topped the list with an impressive 120.3 IQ, followed closely by Among Us players with a 118.9 average IQ. It's interesting seeing Among Us so high on the list considering it's strong mobile community and the low IQ scores of mobile gamers. Rounding out the top five IQs based on game choice were Minecraft players with an average IQ of 116.3, then Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players with a 111.2 IQ, and lastly, FIFA players in fifth with a 106.5 IQ. Another ten games were listed with mobile titles Candy Crush Saga and Angry Birds taking the last two spots on the list, with average IQs of 96.4 and 95.8, respectively.
While players may finally have an answer as to which gamers are smartest, the debate doesn't seem like it will be ending any time soon. At least Rainbow Six: Siege and Among Us players can now puff their chests out a little bit more, before being called dumb based on what game they play.
