LAST TIME OUT
- No. 12 Arkansas (8-1, 0-0) pushed its win streak to five on Saturday afternoon in the Jack Stephens Center, as the Hogs beat in-state foe Little Rock (4-3, 0-0), 80-70.
- Arkansas relied on the long ball against the Trojans, hitting 14 threes in the game, the most ever given up in a single game by a Joe Foley team.
- Redshirt senior guard Chelsea Dungee led the Razorbacks on the scoreboard, as she dropped 18 points on six of 11 shooting, including five made threes, matching her career-high.
- Redshirt senior guard Destiny Slocum scored 16 points, while Makayla Daniels and Amber Ramirez also both scored in double figures, going for 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Arkansas’ bench played a key role in the win, as redshirt senior guard Jailyn Mason (nine points), redshirt sophomore forward Erynn Barnum (eight points) and sophomore guard Marquesha Davis (seven points) all made key contributions off the pine.
- Barnum also led the Hogs down low during her homecoming, pulling down six rebounds and rejecting two shots.
- With her 18 points, Dungee has now scored in double figures in 13 straight games.
STORYLINES
- Jailyn Mason has started to find her rhythm off the bench, as she’s scored 25 points over her last two games.
- She went for 16 against UCA, hitting four of her five three-point attempts.
- She scored nine against Little Rock, hitting three more long balls in that game.
- Arkansas has a two-headed monster in its backcourt, as Makayla Daniels and Destiny Slocum have formed a dynamic lead guard duo for Coach Neighbors.
- Daniels is averaging 14.0 points per game, and has scored in double figures in eight of nine of Arkansas’ games thus far.
- For perspective, she only scored in double figures in 10 games all of last season.
- She has been well rounded from the point guard spot, though, as she is third on the team in points (14.0), and is second on the team in steals (1.6) and assists (3.1) per game.
- Destiny Slocum, meanwhile, has been excellent in her own right through her first nine games with the Hogs.
- She is averaging 16.1 points per game, good for second on the team, and leads Arkansas in assists, dishing 32 of them so far this season.
- She’s had four or more assists in her last three games.
- Slocum has been ultra-efficient for the Hogs so far, shooting a rock-solid 50 percent from the field and 34.9 percent from three.
