King In Black: Who Would Win A Knull Versus Goku Fight
Knull is pretty much on the lips of every superhero in the Marvel Comics Universe right now, mostly out of fear, in anguish (by those poor souls who unfortunately crossed his path and are getting ripped apart, blasted into oblivion, or pounded into the ground) and in any other way imaginable that has a negative connotation. That is because Knull has finally arrived at Earth after his long imprisonment and thirsts for destruction, so much so that he managed to effortlessly overcome each of the planet's failed attempts at staving his assault within the span of King in Black's first measly issue.
Knull's seemingly unparalleled strength coupled with his rather astonishing array of skills and powers at his disposal undoubtedly stems from the incalculable amount of time he has been in existence, having not only created the symbiotes that have brought us the likes of Carnage and Venom, but having been present to witness the beginning of the universe. So with such an absurd amount of power at his fingertips and having proven himself quite capable of destroying Earth's mightiest of heroes, it's only natural to compare the god-creator with other insanely powerful beings from other universes and franchises to see who would win in the battle to the death, no matter how unlikely. And who is more ridiculously powerful than Goku, the Saiyan-born Earthling from the Dragon Ball franchise?
Goku might act innocent and naive, even while in battle to such a degree that teeters on the edge of astonishing ignorance, but his thirst for attaining more strength and his utter excitement to fight the most powerful beings imaginable (especially those who are stronger than him) have the Saiyan constantly endeavoring to become more powerful and thus achieve new heights that even rival the gods. Though, it is important to note that Goku's almost child-like wonder of every warrior, even those much weaker than him, and his overall affinity for the experience of combat have almost cost him his life many times, on account of him always holding back his true potential to elongate each fight as long as possible to make the experience more exciting.
As such, Goku has perpetually broken barrier after barrier, consistently tapping into a new well of power that many originally thought unattainable - from his many transformations beginning at Super Saiyan, all the way up to Ultra Instinct, a technique that is even difficult for the franchise's God of Destruction to master, thus being referred as the "state of the gods." What's more, as a Saiyan, each time Goku is beaten to the point of death and survives, his power grows exponentially, taking the saying "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" to a whole new level.
But who would win in a fight? While little is known of Knull's true capability, having just arrived in the flesh for the first time in almost literally forever. From what we know now, Goku could defeat the god-creator of the symbiotes without even transforming into a Super Saiyan, let alone achieving Ultra Instinct. But how? It all boils down to comparing Knull's speed and the state of his soul to Goku's instant transmission technique and Genki Dama (also known as Spirit Bomb).
In the case of speed or lack thereof, when Knull finally breaks from his prison at the end of Absolute Carnage, it took him almost a full year (in real time) to finally reach Earth. While that's one year in the real world, it can be assumed that his journey is not instantaneous, what with Earth having enough time to prepare for his arrival and Knull having to ride a dragon-like creature to get there, all of which assumes he cannot teleport. In the case of his soul, Knull is literally all evil. Heck, he was the darkness before "the Light of Creation" tore into the blackness. Additionally, his unquenchable thirst to destroy the light was so great that even his own dark, twisted creations felt compelled to form a prison around him, so completely that many mistakenly thought their effort to be a planet.
His impurity is important because Goku has the ability to create the Genki Dama, a ki manipulation technique that absorbs the energy of living beings to form a sphere that, depending on the user's abilities, can grow in ridiculous size and power. What makes this attack so crucial is that only one who has a pure heart, like Goku, can utilize it, for the energy would overwhelm and completely obliterate the user. So, in essence, this is a perfect attack to use against a being who is disturbed by negative thoughts, like Knull. Of course, there are major drawbacks to the Genki Dama, most notably the time in which it takes to form. The user could choose to only take a short amount of time to summon a small and weak energy ball, but the attack wouldn't be effective, especially against someone as strong as Knull. So, Goku would need a considerable amount of time to create a Genki Dama powerful enough to completely obliterate Knull.
This is where the instant transmission technique comes into play. Instant transmission allows Goku to literally travel an absurd amount of distances, like light-years, in the blink of an eye (or, to be more concise, in the amount of time it takes to place his index and middle fingers onto his forehead and concentrate). The successful utilization of the technique, however, is completely predicated on whether Goku can sense the particular individual's ki signature because the user can only transport to another person that he or she can feel. This, however, wouldn't be a problem for Goku since he would most likely use this technique as a last resort and therefore would have already begun fighting Knull and therefore come to recognize his ki signature.
With that said, here's how the battle would pan out. Goku would face Knull, sense his ki, battle him a bit (most likely to the point where he is at death's door) and then instantly transmit to someone he knows and can sense most likely in a galaxy far, far away. From what we know so far of Knull's aptitude at traveling at high velocities, it is very unlikely that Knull would be able to follow him, so Goku could take his time. From wherever Goku transported to, he could begin calling upon every known life force in the universe to lend him their energy for his Genki Dama. What's more, Goku would likely seek the aid of his friends from the 11 other universes he battled during the Tournament of Power in Dragon Ball Super, so, he would literally be gathering energy and power from 12 universes and using them against Knull. Once completed, all he would have to do is instant transmit to wherever Knull's ki is and thrust the energy sphere at him, which, again, the King in Black probably wouldn't be able to dodge due to his inability to teleport. Since Knull would most likely still be filled with impure thoughts, the Genki Dama would overwhelm and obliterate him from existence in a heartbeat.
One thing's for sure if Dragon Ball's Goku were present in the Marvel universe, the King in Black event would end much quicker than it began.
