The Mandalorian: 10 Best Fight Scenes In Season 2 | ScreenRant
In the Star Wars universe, anyone will do anything to either bring peace upon the universe or bring destruction and havoc to humanity. Therefore, several characters have been in rough positions that have led to fighting scenes in both the movies and TV series. Some of these fights may be Jedi duels, and other fighting scenes are between those in the resistance and those on the dark side. The Mandalorian is no exception to these fighting scenarios, and there were several fight scenes throughout season 2.
As tension rises in season 2, Din Djarin and Grogu were faced with even more obstacles as they attempted to complete their mission to get Grogu to the right people. Luckily, season 2 gave viewers some pretty awesome fight scenes, such as Mandalorians taking on stormtroopers and Jedis coming in perfect time to save the day.
10 Din Djarin Vs. A Dark Trooper
This fight scene has a Terminator vibe to it. Considering that the Dark Troopers are powerful droids, it is impossible to overcome a whole crew of them. Din planned with Bo-Katan, Cara, Fennec, and Koska to stop the Dark Troopers. However, Din was not quick enough to reach the Dark Troopers, and one managed to slip through the doors.
Luckily, Din's beskar armor took most of the hits and survived the Dark Trooper's attacks. Though outmatched by the Dark Troopers, Din slipped in a few moves with his gears and quickly finished it with the beskar spear.
9 Koska Reeves Vs. Boba Fett
This fight may have been a brief one, but it certainly got viewers elated. With Grogu kidnapped by Gideon and his imperial goons, Din Djarin reached out to Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves to join his team, take out the stormtroopers, and get back Grogu.
Of course, there was high tension in the room, given Boba Fett's reputation as a clone. Considering Koska Reeves is played by WWE star Mercedes Varnado, she pulled no punches against Boba and showed her brute force against him with her savvy moves. Eventually, both ceasefire.
8 Din Djarin & Bo-Katan & Koska Reeves & Axe Woves Vs. Stormtroopers
Though it was not the first time we see a group of Mandalorians fight against stormtroopers, it was exciting to see more Mandalorians appear on the series, especially with the live-action Bo-Katan. As Din needed some information for his mission, he joined Bo-Katan and her crew in taking over an Imperial cargo ship that had weapons in exchange for information about a Jedi.
They all worked together to fight the stormtroopers and even roughed up a few moves. However, the Mandalorians easily outsmarted the stormtroopers since they could not even strategize their plan without giving the Mandalorians the edge. Despite some reservations, Din gave it his all to help the team, which meant exposing himself to the stormtroopers to allow the other Mandalorians to attack the stormtroopers.
7 Ahsoka Tano Vs. Morgan Elsbeth's Guards
As fans waited for the live-action Ahsoka to make her way to the screen, nothing could have been a better introduction than her fighting against guards as a Jedi.
She single-handedly annihilated Elsbeth's guards, which only showed the strength and cleverness of Ahsoka Tano. She snuck up on her enemies, and her fighting skills were effortless. Overall, fans felt the sheer joy of watching a live-action appearance of the character and her taking out several troops in a matter of a few minutes.
6 Din Djarin Vs. The Pirates
Din Djarin has the skills to fight, and his fight scene against several pirates is just one example of his proficiency as a bounty hunter. Din and Mayfeld work together to access a hidden Imperial rhydonium refinery and find the coordinates to Gideon's ship. While executing the plan, they run into some trouble along with their travel on Morak.
While using a stolen transport as a disguise to gain entry, some pirates attempted to blow up the rhydonium. With Mayfeld driving the transport, Din managed to stop the pirates from exploding the rhydonium with a series of hand-to-hand combat and survived long enough to reach the refinery. Also, given that Din was without his beskar armor, it only showed the impressive skill sets that the Mandalorian had without his gears.
5 Ahsoka Tano Vs. Morgan Elsbeth
With the help of Din Djarin, Ahsoka Tano finally had her chance to face Morgan Elsbeth, free the people of Calodan, and find information about Grand Admiral Thrawn. Though the fight scene was slow, it also added to the intensity in the room.
As Elsbeth used a beskar spear, and Ahsoka used her lightsabers, both fighters attempted to overpower each other. Though Elsbeth disarmed Ahsoka from one of her white lightsabers, it was Ahsoka with her astuteness that allowed her to overtake and defeat Elsbeth. Ahsoka once again proves why she is one of the best Jedi in the franchise.
4 Boba Fett Vs. Stormtroopers
Technically speaking, Din and Fennec Shand were fighting alongside Boba Fett. After making a brief appearance in the season 2 premiere, Boba Fett and Fennec followed Din to retrieve his suit, only to be ambushed by stormtroopers.
However, it was a thrilling moment to see Boba Fett reunite with his family's Mandalorian suit and using his gadgets and sheer intelligence to fight the stormtroopers. He probably even had the most kills than Din and Fennec, which only shows how competent Boba Fett is as a fighter.
3 Bo-Katan & Cara Dune & Fennec Shand & Koska Reeves Vs. Stormtroopers
One of the great things about Star Wars is the display of fierceness and strength for several female characters. Luckily, The Mandalorian bestowed such representation for some of the best female characters in the franchise. To overtake Gideon's ship, Koska, Bo-Katan, Cara, and Fennec worked together to take out many of the stormtroopers on board with little challenge.
They all coordinated well with each other to cover every corner and outmaneuvered the arriving stormtroopers. This includes sneaking up on the stormtroopers in the weapons area and being one step ahead in strategizing their moves against them. Even when Cara's gun jammed for a bit, that did not stop her, and she quickly resolved the issue. Eventually, they overtook the control room and succeeded in their part of the plan.
2 Din Djarin Vs. Moff Gideon
This is perhaps the one rivalry that we have anticipated since the season 1 finale. After revealing that Moff Gideon is the villain of the series as he wants Grogu for his experimentations, Din Djarin will do everything he can to stop him and protect Grogu.
After locating Grogu in Gideon's ship, Din met with Moff Gideon, who threatened Grogu's life in front of him. Gideon initially came off as sympathizing and allowed Din to take Grogu, only to be a deception. From there, Din faced Gideon with his beskar spear while Gideon wielded the Darksaber. Despite the brief fight, Din counteracted and outsmarted Gideon's moves, which allowed him to overcome Gideon and took the Darksaber.
1 Luke Skywalker Vs. The Dark Troopers
Din Djarin and his team knew that the Dark Troopers were formidable and that they had little chance of taking them out. Even Moff Gideon had confidence that he will leave his ship alive until a special Jedi arrived on the scene.
After long-awaited anticipation to learn who the Jedi was to receive the call, Luke Skywalker came in style with his effortless Jedi skills against the Dark Troopers and single-handedly took them all out. With his entrance, fans were mind blown and ecstatic as they felt the nostalgia of the beloved character's return. Not to mention that the final moments of his fight scene parallel Darth Vader's fight against the resistance in Rogue One, making it quite a beautiful moment to watch.
