Report: Spurs to ramp up COVID testing amid fears over spread of the mutant strain
The Daily Mail has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur, as well as the other London clubs, will soon start testing their players and staff twice a week after Tier 4 restrictions were imposed on the city.
London was previously designated as Tier 2 and a limited number of spectators were thus allowed back into the stadia across the city, with the North London Derby at the start of this month being watched by 2000 Spurs fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, with London now hit with Tier 4 restrictions amidst an alarming rise in COVID cases and the discovery of a mutant strain, it is said that clubs are set to take additional precautions after the festive period.
