More snow could be on the way Sunday night into Monday.
Snowboarding Santa hit the slopes recently, finding some fun on the slopes in the Big Bear area and spreading cheer to others in the San Bernardino Mountains.
“Such a fun time of year to throw on the Santa suit and see the looks on their face as you throw a slash near them or just lay down a huge carve in front of them,” said Artie Castro, an Orange resident and the snowboarder behind the Santa costume and beard, who was on the slopes of Snow Summit last week. “This year was especially important to me to throw a little joy and see their faces light up.”

Although travel is restricted, local mountain resorts are still operating with COVID-19 regulations, including limiting tickets sold and online purchases.
“The mountains are doing an amazing job considering everything that is going on with Covid,” Castro said on Thursday, Dec. 24.
There could be a gift on the horizon for skiers and snowboarders in coming days, with a chance of snow in the forecast late Sunday night and into Monday.
The snow will be the first since early November when an early-season storm dumped more than a foot of snow.
Resorts are expecting about half a foot, possibly more, above 6,000 feet. If you plan on visiting mountain areas, check road conditions and always be prepared with chains.
