Car crashes into house in southeast Topeka, driver in custody

TOPEKA, Kan. (KSNT) - UPDATE 4:07 p.m. A woman has been booked into the Shawnee County Jail after driving into a southeast Topeka home.

According to Topeka police, a citizen reported a suspicious vehicle in the 3500 block of Humboldt Thursday morning. An officer made contact with the car, but the driver sped off.

Police have identified the woman driving the car as Heather Easter. Easter was not being chased by police, but sped out of control and crashed into a home on 37th Street in Topeka.

Easter also grazed another car before crashing into the front of the home.

Multiple Topeka police and firefighters were on scene.
