The Mandalorian: Jack Black Sings Theme Wearing A Boba Fett Helmet
Jack Black recently shared a video of himself singing The Mandalorian theme song while wearing a Boba Fett helmet. The popular Disney+ series just released its season 2 finale earlier this month. It brought in several characters from the larger Star Wars universe, including Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson). Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) played a key role in The Mandalorian season 2 as well. He made his first full appearance on the show in "Chapter 14: The Tragedy." The Mandalorian's season 2 finale ended with the cryptic reveal The Book of Boba Fett is coming in December 2021. However, at the time, it was unclear if that was the title of The Mandalorian season 3 or a separate show entirely.
Soon after came the confirmation The Book of Boba Fett is indeed a spinoff series that will film before The Mandalorian's new season. Morrison will reprise his role for the show, as will Ming-Na Wen, who played Fennec Shand in seasons 1 and 2. Little is known about The Book of Boba Fett as of now, but it does have an exciting creative team. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez will also executive produce the series, which takes place within the timeline of The Mandalorian.
Recently, it became clear Boba Fett has a fan in one of Hollywood's biggest stars. Posting to TikTok, Black shared a video of himself singing The Mandalorian's theme song. At one point, he grabs a Boba Fett helmet and wears it for the rest of the video. Check it out at the link below:
This isn't the first time Black has posted amusing content during the pandemic. Over the summer, he created a homemade PSA encouraging his fans to be a hero and wear a mask. More recently, Black danced and performed tricks in a Spider-Man suit, to hilarious effect. The actor's content has been a much-needed distraction this year, and his The Mandalorian video is no exception. It shows a passion for the series and Boba Fett in particular.
Since the show's premiere last year, The Mandalorian's theme has become synonymous with the series. It's inspired everything from heavy metal covers to Christmas light displays. Based on Black's video, the obsession with the theme song isn't going away anytime soon. Hopefully, future takes on The Mandalorian's opening help pass the time until the show's season 3 return.
