Chadwick Boseman’s Widow Gives Emotional Tribute To Late Actor At The Gotham Awards

Chadwick Boseman’s widow gave a beautiful tribute to her late husband on Monday night and the emotion was felt by all.

While at the 30th annual IFP Gotham Awards, Simone Ledward Boseman delivered a moving acceptance speech in honor of the “Black Panther” actor who received the Tribute prize. Calling him the most honest person she’d ever met, Simone also spoke to the long-lasting legacy he left behind.

“It is my honor to receive this award on behalf of my husband,” Boseman stated, adding that it was “an acknowledgment of not only his profound work but of his impact on this industry and this world.”

Simone ended her tear-filled speech with a message directly to the love of her life.

“Chad, thank you. I love you. I am so proud of you. Keep shining your light on us. Thank you.”\

In August, Boseman died at the age of 43 from a private four-year struggle with colon cancer. He was mourned the world over and will be fondly remembered for his exemplary talent and work ethic. Chadwick’s final film, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is currently on Netflix and is earning the actor rave-reviews and awards season buzz.
