Citi Field To Serve As Covid-19 Vaccine Site
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Mets owner Steve Cohen announced on Tuesday morning that Citi Field will serve as a vaccination site for COVID-19, a part of the city’s push to vaccinate the population.
De Blasio said that the ballpark could vaccinate from 5,000 to 7,000 people a day, starting January 25th. “We even welcome Yankees fans”, said the mayor, “It’s going to be a game changer.”
De Blasio conducted this portion of his press conference in a Mets jersey and hat, and thanked Cohen for his gesture to help the city.
