90 Day Fiancé: Everything To Know About Brandon's Parents Ron & Betty Gibbs
Every reality show needs a good old villain and it’s as if fans have found not one but two in Brandon Gibbs’ parents Ron and Betty in season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé. It didn’t take long for the Dinwiddie based parents to be declared the evil ones, especially with their overbearing attitude and behavior toward Julia. But there’s more to Betty and Ron than just being Brandon’s Hummingbird Acres Farm-owning family. Here’s everything to know about the taskmasters Ron and Elizabeth from 90 Day Fiancé.
All it took was for 90 Day Fiancé’s Brandon to admit he had to welcome his Russian fiancé to his parents' house due to a cash crunch and them talking about contraceptives and a sex ban. “My house, my rules,” said Betty when 90 Day Fiancé’s Julia opposed to staying in separate rooms, and soon, it was her being given the unofficial title of a farmhand that ticked fans off. Be it Betty embarrassing Julia and Brandon by pointing out her hickey, or opposing their Mother's Day wedding date, she soon got called Debbie Johnson 2.0. But accompanying Betty in 90 Day Fiancé season 2 is also husband Rob, who’s equally disliked for supporting her and for being one half of the “dog breeder” couple. The newest episode saw Betty complaining about her “cloudy” jacuzzi water and later, Rob scolding his future 90 Day Fiancé daughter-in-law Julia for not helping out at the farm enough. But surprisingly enough, Betty and Ron do have lives outside the farm, which don’t really get talked about amidst them cajoling 27-year-old Brandon on 90 Day Fiancé.
The 90 Day Fiancé star Brandon’s parents Ron and Betty stay at their Hummingbird Acres Farm located in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. As per their website, the couple raises lambs, sheep, goats, pigs, hogs, and poultry at the farm, while also breeding German Shephard dogs and Brussels Griffons. But 90 Day Fiancé’s Betty also has an interesting full-time job as per her LinkedIn, where she refers to herself as “Elizabeth (Cusumano) Gibbs.” Julia’s mother-in-law Betty studied at the Nashua High School, NH, and later did a Business/Accounting course at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. The 90 Day Fiancé mom followed this with a biology major and physical ed minor from the University of Utah. Betty then worked as a business manager at Virginia Lawyers Weekly for 14 and a half years in Richmond, starting August 1990, and progressed to Cox Radio as a business manager in January 2005 for about three years.
The 90 Day Fiancé star mother Betty is currently employed with Main Line Broadcasting/Alpha Media in Richmond and has been there since November 2007 as a controller. Along with her husband, Rob, Betty has owned Hummingbird Acres Farm since June 1998. Meanwhile, 90 Day Fiancé’s Brandon’s dad Ron, as per his Facebook, earlier used to stay in Petersburg, Va., where he attended Meadowbrook High School. Ron also went to the J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, thus proving that he and 90 Day Fiancé’s Betty are college sweethearts. Ron’s profile shows that he works at Honda House, a car dealer in Richmond.
Outside of 90 Day Fiancé, both Ron and Betty seem to have normal lives but surely, this is a side to their story that reality TV viewers may never get to see. But will Julia be the one who either wins over her in-laws in the end or on the contrary, makes Ron and Betty exit Brandon’s life? By the looks of it, 90 Day Fiancé star Julia is happily married to Brandon, signaling that she started enjoying the farm life with her in-laws Ron and Betty.
