Overwatch 2’s New Heroes: What We Know About Sojourn So Far
Sojourn is a mysterious new hero coming to Overwatch 2. While multiple new heroes will presumably be added into the sequel, Sojourn is one of the few to be officially confirmed. Here's everything we know about Sojourn in Overwatch 2 so far.
Overwatch 2 is a continuation of the first game, which means its primary focus will still be with its returning characters. Although, new heroes will also enter the fray, even though Blizzard has remained pretty silent on what kinds of characters players can expect to find in the sequel. Since Overwatch 2's announcement at BlizzCon in 2019, news has been pretty scarce. However, quite a few things are known about Overwatch 2's new playable character Sojourn already.
It's been a long road for fans who've wanted Sojourn in the game. She's been around since at least 2016, appearing in cinematics and other media for the first Overwatch despite not being included on the roster of playable heroes. However, she wasn't confirmed for Overwatch 2 until fairly recently, when Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan confirmed new heroes would be coming to the game. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting more news regarding both Sojourn and Overwatch 2. Here's everything that's known about Sojourn right now.
Sojourn's overall look has changed in the half-decade since players first saw her. Her appearance is more cybernetic now, and she seems to have a rifle on one arm and a cannon fixed to the other. Because of this, she will presumably be another Overwatch DPS hero, and much like Baptiste, she will likely carry two different sets of ammo that deals various damage. Details regarding her Ultimate or unique abilities aren't known right now, although her weapons would allow for Sojourn to deal incredible amounts of damage.
The long-awaiting Sojourn will be the first Canadian and the first black female hero to arrive in Overwatch. She should follow Echo as the newest playable character in the game. Both were teased for Overwatch 2, even though Echo became available in the first game last year. More details regarding Sojourn and Overwatch 2 is expected at BlizzCon 2021, so hopefully fans won't have to wait too much longer to see when she'll appear in-game.
For now, this is everything players currently know about Sojourn in Overwatch 2. Based on her weapons, she will most likely be a DPS hero - even though official details regarding her moves and abilities haven't been unveiled yet.
