AC Valhalla Harry Potter Easter Egg References Voldemort's Horcuxes

0

Witches and wizards taking up the Viking helm in Assassin's Creed Valhalla may have noticed some bewitchingly familiar Harry Potter Easter eggs while skulking about in Lunden. As a video posted on YouTube reveals, players can find a room with a few instantly recognizable references to the world of the Boy Who Lived.

Since launch, Assassin's Creed Valhalla players have discovered the game is chock full of Easter eggs referencing a wide array of recognizable franchises. These include, but certainly aren't limited to, The Lord of the Rings, Dark Souls, and, Dungeons & DragonsThe Harry Potter series, in particular, is one of the most popular and ubiquitous book and film series in modern history, spawning an eight-part blockbuster film anthology and a multi-part spinoff, derivative books and plays, a Hogwarts theme park, and too m. Even those who aren't avid fans of the series can still easily recognize references to the wizarding world, like the ones found in AC Valhalla.

Shared by NamelessDreadx37x on YouTube, searching a room in Lunden (the Old English name for modern London and one of Harry Potter's few real-world settings) stumbled across a list of items referred to only as a "Strange List," featuring entries like "snake," "locket," "diadem," and "ring" that fans of Harry Potter will instantly recognize as the Horcruxes that housed parts of antagonist Lord Voldemort's soul. Over on a wall are four banners, representing the colors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry's four houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

It's not the most involved Easter egg in Assassin's Creed history, but then again, it doesn't need to be, thanks to the global popularity of its source material. There's another reference to the series not shown in the video, where Eivor can pick up a copy of the fictional Fantastic Fish and Where to Find Them, a reference to the Fantastic Beasts spin-off book and series. These neat inclusions mark another entry in a proud tradition in the Assassin's Creed universe of allowing players to stumble upon hidden goodies across the series' sprawling open worlds. These Harry Potter nods may not be so mind-blowing as the new game's connection to the original Assassin's Creed, but it's still a welcome little addition.

Although Assassins Creed Valhalla had a rocky start thanks to a vast number of glitches, subsequent patches have made the game more stable and enjoyable. As a result, players have more chances to go Easter egg-hunting to find hidden gems and immerse themselves in the game's historical and mythological settings.
