We're all aware of the huge amounts of post-consumer textile waste - it's used items like old clothing - that ends up in landfills, but it's less common to hear about the waste generated by pre-consumer textiles. It's all the scraps created during the production process that don't turn it into finished parts, and up to 15% of textiles for clothing ends up on the cutting room floor.
