WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomore Aubry Donley has been named the KCAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced today (Jan. 18).
A four-time KCAC Cross Country Athlete of the Week winner, this represents the first Track & Field weekly nod of Donley's career.
"Aubry had a great weekend on the track, racing tough against some great DII competition," Friends track & field head coach Henry Brun said.
"She has her sights set on some National Championship goals this year and this performance is a great step in the right direction. I am excited to see her join her teammates in producing some national qualifying relays this weekend."
Donley snags this award after emerging victorious in the 800 meter run at the 2021 Mel Tjeerdsma Classic this past weekend (Jan. 16).
A native of Lincoln, Kan., Donley's time of 2:15.07 is a new school record and is tops in the KCAC this season and second in the NAIA.
She bested 17 other runners in the win, with the overall field including competitors from NCAA Division II, NAIA and the JUCO ranks.
